This tool is to learn how biomimicry can teach us to build better, stronger communities.

Biomimicry is the practice of learning from nature’s patterns, systems, and structures to design better solutions for human problems. It’s not just science, it’s a way of seeing the world differently. In this series, we shall use examples from the world around us to learn some theories and practices of community organizing. The idea is that nature holds lessons for community organizing. We just need to look closely.

By looking at nature, we see that systems of care, defense, resilience, and collaboration are already all around us. We’re not separate from nature. We’re a part of it.
